I just thought that was funny.

In other news: I'm engaged! I'm going to spend the rest of my life with my best friend, who also happens to be the most beautiful woman I know.

It's Been A Long, Long Time

The other day Bethany pointed out the fact that my last post was well over a month ago. This fact is true. This fact is sad.

I decided to overcome the non-posting inertia and post at least something to inform readers (if we still have any) of what's going in our lives:

1. Graduation: Jacob and I both graduated from UNL in early May. Four years of good times and difficult (but not too difficult) academic challenges.

2. Future: We're leaving Lincoln! Jacob leaves in August for seminary at Beeson Divinity School in Birmingham, AL, where he'll be for the next three years or so. I'm also leaving in August for the University of Göttingen, Germany to study European history and pursue independent research on a Fulbright scholarship. I'll be returning to the states at the beginning of next summer.

3. LDR's: Jacob and I are both reluctantly accepting the reality of long-distance relationships - his girlfriend Allison will be in Chicago next year while he's in Alabama, and Bethany will be finishing up school here in Lincoln while I'm in Germany. Granted his distance (600 miles) is much shorter than mine (5000 miles), but both are formidible. Here's to email and Vile Richard!

That's about all I can think of for the time being. And it was difficult enough just posting that.
